Between heather, boardwalks, and forest paths: We discovered special places in Lower Saxony – from a tranquil lake to a treetop walkway and a campsite with a lake view. In between: honest food, plenty of nature, and small moments to pause and reflect.
During the week, we prefer relaxed evenings without much hustle and bustle, usually on the sofa with Netflix and the like, but this Thursday was a little different: The four of us went to Hameln and ate Asian food! On the recommendation of our companions, we went to KOI Sushi Hameln, and the evening was truly wonderful.

A campsite near the Harz National Park, not far from the Cistercian Museum in Walkenried. The pitches are very nice, however, some consist only of grass – which can cause minor problems when it rains. The numerous water points on the campsite are a definite plus.
The walk from the campsite in Walkenried to the monastery takes about 15 minutes; admission costs only €5 with the Harz Card discount, and it's an interesting opportunity to learn about the history here and admire the buildings.

Under a bright blue sky, the four of us set off around 11:00 AM from Lippe in North Rhine-Westphalia to Bad Pyrmont in Lower Saxony – the drive thankfully only takes about 50 minutes.
