Parking space near the city of Salzburg with direct bus connection

Motorhome pitch in Salzburg – The ideal starting point for a city trip to Salzburg

We visited the Salzburg motorhome site as a base for a city trip to Salzburg. The site is well connected to the motorway and the city, offers straightforward check-in and check-out, and has clean sanitary facilities. We recommend this site to all motorhome travelers who want to explore Salzburg.

Located a little outside the city, but quite close to the motorway, is the Salzburg motorhome parking area, the first stop on our February trip to Austria and southern Germany.

From here, we planned and ultimately completed a city trip with an overnight stay at this campsite. In good weather, the campsite even offers a view of the mountains on the horizon. When it's cloudy and raining, you can only vaguely make them out. However, I assume that visitors to the campsite don't choose this spot for the view, but rather for the direct bus connection to the beautiful city of Salzburg.

For those traveling by campervan, this campsite is the ideal starting point for a city trip. The bus runs regularly, even late into the evening. But back to the campsite itself: The "registration" seems to be largely based on trust. If no staff are present, visitors can take a small plastic bag from a hook, fill in their details, and leave the calculated price in cash upon departure. Naturally, this bag is placed in a secure mailbox and not hung back on the hook.

The pitches are generously sized, at least for our small campervan, and each one has an electrical hookup right on the pitch. There are several stations for emptying grey water and chemical toilets, and a small fresh water tap. Apparently, the sanitary facilities can be opened with a PIN code during peak season. However, when we were there, they were permanently open. It's worth noting that the toilet cubicles vary in size. This isn't really a problem; in fact, it's rather amusing when you try to sneak into the toilet with your shower gear and end up causing a bit of a scramble with the cubicles.

The noise level at the campsite was also very low. We weren't woken up or disturbed during the night.

Services provided for approximately €30 and one overnight stay

Conclusion

Conclusion: We wholeheartedly recommend this campsite, not least because of its excellent connections to the city of Salzburg and the uncomplicated registration and deregistration process!
