To truly experience Athens, you need a good base. For us, that means: centrally located, air-conditioned, with enough space for four adults and a toddler – without unnecessary frills. We found exactly that kind of accommodation on Airbnb.

Arriving in Athens

After landing at the airport, a pre-booked shuttle service takes us directly to the apartment. We arrive in the early evening and are warmly welcomed by an older Greek woman. She shows us around at her leisure: two bedrooms – one with a crib – a small bathroom, an open-plan living area with a breakfast bar leading to the kitchen, and, as a highlight: the rooftop terrace.

Accommodation overview

After receiving a few personal restaurant recommendations, we settled in. The apartment felt welcoming, clean, and well-designed. The bathroom was compact, but perfectly adequate for a few days – and that remained our only criticism.

Location & Atmosphere

What truly sets this accommodation apart is its location. From here, we can easily reach many spots on foot or by public transport. For us, it's the perfect base for exploring Athens without any stress. No luxury, but just right: uncomplicated, functional, and with a real bonus on top – the sunset over the city rooftops.
