Keukenhof: A paradise for nature lovers and photographers
Join us on a trip to Keukenhof, where tulip fields and themed halls are just some of the highlights. Enjoy nature, discover hidden paths, and be inspired by the variety of photo opportunities. A day full of memories awaits you!

We recently traveled to the Netherlands. Our destination for Saturday, our only full day there, was Keukenhof Gardens, which is about a 30-minute drive from Zandvoort and therefore also from our campsite. What can I say? Everything was perfect – the weather was fantastic and not too hot. During our visit, we only encountered one brief shower, which we spent indoors in one of the indoor attractions.
But first, let's go back to the beginning: We bought our tickets online. The price was €20 per person, plus an additional €10 for parking our campervan. On the way there, our satnav took us through some impressive tulip fields – a real highlight for us. Parking was very straightforward thanks to the staff at the car park. For that time of year (March), it wasn't particularly busy, even on a weekend.
Upon entering Keukenhof, you see several staff members dressed up, handing out information and posing for photos. We quickly continue into the park, admiring the flowers just beginning to bloom. Keukenhof is quite large, and you could easily spend several hours here. It gets a bit more crowded at the main attractions (windmill, canal boat tour). Of course, we visited the windmill and viewed the grounds from the first floor. A month later, everything would probably be covered in tulips, but at this time of year, the barren fields don't offer any color.
The park features various themed areas, such as a maze. Here's a tip if you ever find yourself in a maze and can't find the exit: always go in the same direction, no matter what – so always turn right. Sure, you might end up going down the same path twice, but this way you're guaranteed to find your way out! That's exactly what we did, armed with a 3-meter selfie stick, which captured our little maze adventure from above.
Keukenhof also has a petting zoo, which unfortunately wasn't open during our visit – a shame, but no big deal. The park has so much to offer! We stopped at a small beach bar, took some cool photos, and then went into one of the many halls. There, we discovered another highlight, as the halls were also themed, although the main focus, of course, remained the floral splendor. From London telephone booths and bicycles to neon signs – there are truly countless photo opportunities for all Instagram fans! And we certainly took advantage of quite a few of them.
As we left the halls, we strolled leisurely through the park, walked across some stepping stones on a lake, crossed a small wooded area, and after about three hours we made our way back to the parking lot.
Keukenhof offers countless photo opportunities and chances to create wonderful memories, and the three of us thoroughly enjoyed it! We highly recommend Keukenhof if you're ever in the area!
