A lovely, rustic restaurant on the main street of Maurach. We spent a very pleasant and relaxing evening there. I'd say the place is a mix of pub, alpine hut, and rock venue. It was quite busy on Valentine's Day.

The service at this inn is quick, friendly, and attentive. We didn't have to wait long for our first drinks, and when it was time to deflate our glasses, a new beer was already on its way.

The schnitzel was fried quite a bit in oil, which is probably fine – perhaps they could have patted off some of the excess fat – but it tasted very good. The potato salad on the side was also excellent.

I'd say it's definitely worth eating here, but you shouldn't experiment too much. The burger I had was okay – it almost seemed like it was made with a ready-made curry sauce (just based on taste; I can't say for sure if that's actually the case). Taste-wise, the burger was alright, but nothing special.

What was truly fantastic, however, was the portion of Kaiserschmarrn we shared for dessert – prepared with plenty of butter, so it was bursting with flavor, served with powdered sugar and applesauce. Both the presentation and the taste were outstanding.

The service, ambiance, and classic dishes at this restaurant are excellent, making a second visit definitely worthwhile. Please note: This restaurant does not accept card payments, which is clearly stated on the menu – whether this has caused any problems in the past is unknown. We were very satisfied!
