The campsite near Strasbourg is fully booked in May. We booked early, so we don't have to worry about finding a spot. This is our last stop in France before heading back home.

We've just completed an 11-hour drive from the Verdon Gorge through Switzerland, partly through Germany, and back into France – roughly 700 kilometers – before arriving at this very well-maintained and child-friendly campsite. The pitches have asphalt tracks for secure parking, making it really easy to drive in. We're relatively close to the sanitary facilities, and perhaps our setup wasn't ideal, because when we eat our meal, everyone can see what we've cooked, as our "dining area" is right next to the path to the sanitary facilities – you learn something new every day, even here.

Overall, the campsite makes a great impression. The sanitary facilities are clean, there's a washing machine and dryer, and yet – after our trip to the foothills of the Alps – it's a bit too "clean." What's absolutely fantastic is that there are many children and families here – entertainment is provided by a holiday program, a pool, and a large playground.

In addition to pitches for campers and tents, this campsite also offers several holiday apartments, so everyone can find temporary accommodation here. Shops are easily accessible by bicycle. The campsite provides a convenient bread roll delivery service, and what I particularly appreciate is that even small amounts can be paid by card.

The campsite has excellent connections to the border city of Strasbourg, making it ideal for a city break – one of the reasons we chose it. Strasbourg is a fantastic city and definitely worth a visit! But be warned: it can get really crowded when the weather is nice! You can even rent bicycles and e-bikes at the campsite itself, which is really great, as Strasbourg is easily accessible by bike – although we brought our own.

You could say this place is the right choice for anyone who simply wants to spend a few nice days with children. However, it's not particularly close to nature, which was somewhat lacking after the dose of nature we'd enjoyed in recent days – it felt like returning to civilization.

Services provided for approximately €68 and two nights' accommodation.

  • Fresh water
  • Sanitary facilities
  • Electricity
  • Waste disposal
  • Chemical toilet disposal, greywater disposal

Advantages

  • Very child-friendly
  • Multilingual staff (English, French, German)
  • Many entertainment options
  • The garbage collection point is not directly at the square, so nobody is bothered by smells or traffic.
  • Bicycle rental

Disadvantages

  • Crows. There were so many crows in the surrounding trees that they were sometimes really loud and even a little annoying. Of course, the location itself can't be blamed for that.
  • Sounds of passing trains (daytime only)
  • Some of the showers didn't drain properly.

Conclusion

This campsite near Strasbourg offers an ideal blend of comfort and family-friendliness. With clean sanitary facilities, a comprehensive entertainment program, and excellent connections to the city of Strasbourg, it's perfect for a relaxing city break. Despite minor drawbacks like crows and train noise, the site impresses with its many advantages, such as bicycle rental and a convenient bread roll service. For families with children, this campsite is an excellent choice, even if it isn't particularly close to nature.
