Campsite at the gateway to the Hainich National Park in Thuringia
The campsite at the gateway to the Hainich is a beautiful campsite right next to the Hainich National Park.
The pitches are spacious and well-maintained. The sanitary facilities are clean and regularly cleaned. We paid €128 for four nights (water, electricity, waste disposal, sanitary facilities, pitch, two people with a campervan) – an absolutely fair price.
The owner is incredibly friendly and even let us onto the pitch in the evening outside of reception hours. We would definitely recommend this campsite!

Advantages
- Arrival is also possible outside of reception hours (by prior arrangement).
- There is a small kiosk on site.
- Sanitary facilities are centrally located on the square.
- Immediate proximity to the Hainich National Park
Disadvantages
- The kiosk is only opened upon request, as the campsite is managed by one person.
- External shopping facilities are relatively far away.
- The squares are not well marked.
Recommendation
- Ideal as a starting point for the Fairy Trail or treetop path and other hikes in the Hainich National Park
- Child-friendly, as there is a playground and hiking trails are also designed for children.
