At the farmers' market in the spa park in Horn-Bad Meinberg

Two days of farmers' market in Horn-Bad Meinberg

We visited the farmers' market in the spa park in Horn-Bad Meinberg twice. Why? Firstly, we live just two minutes away on foot, and secondly, it was really worth it.

Besides the produce from local farms, there was plenty to see: alpacas, handicrafts, archery, and music.
We're thrilled with the market because we bought a beautiful merino wool blanket for our camper from one of the vendors.
There was bread, cake, some incredibly delicious burgers, as well as spaetzle and flame-grilled salmon – we really feasted over those two days and, despite the rain on Sunday, had a fantastic time at the farmers' market!

The popularity of the farmers' market is always evident in the large number of special parking areas set up around Bad Meinberg! The roads are correspondingly crowded, and especially when the weather is good, an incredible number of people are eager to visit this market.

My personal highlight was the alpacas, who were relaxing in a small enclosure on Saturday, enjoying the sunshine. I don't know why, but I'm a huge fan of alpaca hairstyles! The animals seemed very friendly, and you could get really close to them for a couple of interesting photos. Unfortunately, the animals weren't there on Sunday when we visited the farmers' market for the second time – I would have loved to take some more photos with a different lens then…

Of course we'll be back next year and will feast on other delicacies – and maybe we'll even get a second blanket for our camper...
