After our time in the Giant Mountains, we're heading to the capital of the Czech Republic. We've booked two nights at the Troja Dana . Its location is ideal for enjoying culture, sightseeing, food and drinks without having to stay directly in a city center hotel.

Tram line 17 takes us to the old town in just 15 minutes and runs frequently until midnight. The stop is only a three-minute walk away – super convenient!

Arrival and first impressions

To get to the campsite, we drove down a small entrance and stopped at the barrier. At check-in, we learned that without a reservation it would have been impossible to get a spot here for one or two nights! Lucky us.

We are shown to our pitch and can set up camp right away. During our initial walk-through, we check the facilities: grey water disposal and fresh water refill? No problem. This wasn't entirely clear in our research, but it's definitely there.

The parking areas are not the biggest, but they are easy to drive on.

Features and comfort

The campsite offers everything you could wish for. The reception sells some everyday necessities and offers the option to order bread rolls for the next morning.

Despite the relatively small number of parking spaces, there is a certain degree of privacy . Particularly pleasing: Wi-Fi is available.

Sanitary facilities & extras

The sanitary facilities are clean and the showers work without coins – a big plus! There's also a small kitchen, a washing machine, and a dryer . The showers are quite small, and depending on how hot the water is, it will eventually drip from the ceiling.

Security and payment

At night the large gate of the campsite is locked, but we are given a key with which we can at least get back onto the site on foot.

We only paid at check-out , which was unusual – because this was the only campsite in the Czech Republic that we visited that even offered this payment method.

Conclusion

Troja Dana campsite is the perfect choice for anyone wanting to explore Prague without being right in the heart of the city center. The combination of good facilities, clean sanitary facilities , and ideal transport links makes it a highly recommended option. Our tip: Be sure to book in advance, as it's often fully booked!
