Today we're finally heading out into the countryside again in our camper – into the unknown. Well, maybe only as far as Osnabrück. There lies the Massmann farm, a small, cobbled courtyard in the middle of a residential area near Lintorf. Even the approach is charming: We drive along a street lined with old half-timbered houses, some modernized, some still "old-fashioned".
We arrived around 11:30 am and initially wondered where we were allowed to park. The signs with the Landvergnügen logo quickly showed us the parking area – directly opposite the spacious farm shop.
Variety in the farm shop
The shop surprises us with its selection: In addition to products directly from the farm, such as eggs, pasta, honey, and potatoes, we also find food from other farms in the area. Dennis, who manages the farm, tells us that much of it comes from within a radius of 30 to 50 kilometers.
After a short chat, we fill our basket: coffee, honey, pasta (for dinner with shrimp), spread, cheese and ten brightly painted, ready-cooked eggs – after all, Easter is just around the corner.
Short walk to the supermarket
Since we're still missing a few ingredients, we walk to the supermarket, which is only about 1.5 kilometers away. On the way, we pass right by the Homann/Müller factory – a nice little surprise.
Visit to the petting zoo
Back at the farm, we head straight for the charming petting zoo. We watch the guinea pigs and rabbits before continuing on to the chicken coops, which are just across the road. The chickens are incredibly curious: as soon as we crouch down by the wildlife fence, they rush towards us, clucking loudly. Of course, we document the whole thing with photos and videos.
Relaxing hours at the camper
Back at the camper, all we wanted to do was relax. We sat in the sun, listened to music, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. But then an unexpected guest joined us: a friendly cat. After I playfully hissed at it, it actually jumped onto my lap. Quite perplexed, I let it be, while Stella laughed at my obvious incompetence. When the cat started to dig its claws into my legs, I was startled—and it bolted.
Dinner and conclusion
The rest of the evening passes quietly. We curse our gas stove again, quickly switch to the camper for the shrimp pasta, and enjoy the evening in precious togetherness.
The Massmann farm is perfect for stopping over while passing through, having a nice chat and spending the night in a cozy atmosphere.
