The Japanese garden in Langensalza, Thuringia

Excursion into Japan: Japanese Garden Bad Langensalza

We only visited this garden briefly and rather spontaneously. Here, visitors can get a small glimpse of what life in faraway Japan might look like. At €4 per person (as an after-work option), it's definitely worth it.

During our afternoon in Bad Langensalza, we decided to visit the Japanese Garden in the late afternoon. The evening ticket cost us €4 per person instead of €6 per person.

And let me say this upfront: for €4 you can definitely treat yourself to this fun experience. Here, right in the middle of Germany, you'll see a few bonsai trees, a beautiful rock garden, some koi, and can soak up a bit of Japanese atmosphere.

Especially for a photographer (as always), this is a great opportunity to capture some unusual subjects near the city, be it the park itself or some exciting close-ups.

We were lucky that the sun was already a bit lower in the sky, so the garden glowed beautifully golden. In a traditional greenhouse, we actually discovered the biggest banana plant we've ever seen. If you're in Bad Langensalza and have about an hour to spare, the Japanese garden is certainly a worthwhile choice.
